Big Sites That You Might Want to Buying Craft Supplies

# Amazon. Amazon has recently (during the last few years) expanded their reach into the far corners of the internet. By this, I, of course, am referring to the fact that a lot of online merchants sell through Amazon.com’s website. If you are searching for ‘leather craft supplies,’ Amazon might not have what you are looking for in stock. However, Amazon might have a partner retailer who sells their leather craft supplies and lists their goods on Amazon. Consider Amazon like a giant retail search engine that lists items from all sorts of different companies besides themselves.

# Ebay. Ebay is a great place to find close out merchadise. By this, I mean that companies go bankrupt and have fire sales. A lot of these sales have moved online and therefore you might be able to get a really good deal on some merchandise that is being auctioned off on the world’s biggest auction site.

# Retailers’ own websites. Many of the well known craft sites like Michael’s have their own websites. These sites often have great bargains on merchandise that’s also found in their retail stores. However, even these retailers need to occasionally close out some big lots of merchandise. The web is a perfect place to do exactly that. With no real overhead costs (besides the website’s operation), many of these big retailers will use the web to move a large amount of product really quick. Of course, the retailer needs a mail order, or store pickup, set up to do this, but most do. Check your local retailer’s website, you might be surprise.

Buying Wholesale Product

Thousands of individuals earn an income by selling online through various websites such as eBay or Amazon.com. Buying products wholesale and reselling for profits is enabling an increasing number of people around the world to become self-employed. Alternatively, consumers may buy direct from wholesale sources in order to save money on their general purchases. With the upcoming holiday season, shoppers will be searching for the best deals and biggest discounts. The best discounts, however, can be found directly from the wholesaler or manufacturer.

When people hear the word wholesale, they assume that it is only for those who are involved in the retail business. It is true that some wholesalers only sell in bulk or require legitimate business information, preventing the average consumer from purchasing from such companies. However, a large number of wholesalers do sell items individually and to the general public.

Whether you wish to shop at the lowest priced wholesale sources or you are interested in starting your own retail business, it can be a difficult task to find true quality wholesale companies, as opposed to the middlemen. Wholesale middlemen are those websites and companies who claim to be real wholesalers selling a huge variety of products, but in fact, make money by getting in between you and the real manufacturer or wholesaler. This will result in the customer paying higher prices. As a casual shopper, you will be saving less; as a retailer, your profit will be lower and you may then have to charge higher prices, which makes you less competitive.

It can be extremely time consuming to locate the ‘real’ wholesale websites on the internet. Thankfully, there are websites who compile a list of wholesale companies and contact information and provide it to the public for a small price. Unfortunately, the large majority of these websites are also quite worthless. Many of these sites will list the same middlemen wholesalers mentioned, or simply provide a database of outdated information or links to wholesalers selling outdated and useless products. An extremely limited number of these directories provide links to legitimate, direct wholesalers.

Online Shopping Benefits

The main benefit to online shopping is price. The difference between buying online and a retail store is the cost to get that product in front of the consumer, including shipping, advertising and storage which in the end comes out of your pocket.

With online products, advertising is cheap in comparison to retail outlet advertising. There are no employees needed to stock the shelves, and no stores to pay taxes or utilities on, resulting in less out of pocket expense for you on the same product.

When Americans go shopping, they like to inspect the product first. This is not possible online. Therefor many large companies are willing to offer products for free with a service agreement. You’ll never see this in a retail store short of buy one get one.

Lets not forget about convenience. No crowds, no check out lanes to wait in, no having to fill up the gas tank, you get the idea. Online shopping even makes it possible to send gifts to loved ones across the country without leaving your home.

Promotional offers online are endless. There are so many of them we take them for granted. The common misconception being, it will be there tomorrow. Don’t kid yourself my friend, the market changes daily and so do the offers. Here today, gone tomorrow.

Sure, there will always be promotional offers online, but this doesn’t mean it will be one that is going to best suite your needs. If you find an offer that fits the bill, my advice to you is take it. Why not? It’s what you were looking for right? Happy shopping.

Protect Yourself when Shopping Online

Added to this growth in stores and other big business websites, there are also millions of small traders offering you goods online too. Online auction sites such as ebay are experiencing phenomenal success. These types of purchases however carry the risk that you do not really know who you are dealing with but you have to give them sensitive financial information in order to pay for your purchases. You are forced to choose between buying from small sellers and then trust them with your card details, or forgo the opportunities they offer and deal only with large and trusted names.

Payment Sites

This problem has been recognised and that is why it is now possible to shop online from lots of small sellers while maintaining your privacy and keeping your financial information secure. There are payment sites with the most popular probably being paypal, that are set up specifically to deal with issues like these. Indeed, paypal is now owned by ebay, which shows the link in importance between the two services offered by these companies.

What websites like paypal allow you to do is pay open an online account for free. You can then transfer money into your account using a standard credit card payment procedure. The advantage of this is that while you are providing your card information to paypal, this is the only company who you are giving this information to and since they are large and therefore, hopefully, trustworthy, your privacy and security should be safe.

Then when you make all your various purchases with smaller, more anonymous traders, all you do is make the payment through paypal and this avoids all the dangers having to give all your sensitive data out again and again. It is another example of how using credit cards online are becoming safer and more convenient.
